Two hospitalized after serious crash in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and Jersey City Police are investigating a serious two-car crash that occurred early Tuesday morning near the intersection of Routes 1 & 9.

The collision was reported shortly after 4 a.m. between Duncan Avenue and Communipaw Avenue, authorities said.

Responding officers found two heavily damaged vehicles on the southbound side of the roadway.

The driver of a black Honda Accord, a 21-year-old Jersey City man, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The occupants of the second vehicle, a white Honda Accord—a 34-year-old driver and a 32-year-old passenger, both from Hackensack—were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
