NYPD searching for suspect in lewd act incident at Union Square station

MANHATTAN, NY — The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a lewd act reported at the 14 Street–Union Square subway station.

According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 14, 2024, at approximately 1:25 a.m. A 26-year-old woman was on the northbound N/R train platform when she witnessed an unidentified male engaging in a lewd act.

The suspect fled the station in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.

The individual is described as a male with a slim build and light complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, gray sweatpants, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, white and gray sneakers, and carrying a backpack.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is urged to contact the NYPD.

Police continue to investigate the incident and are working to locate the individual involved.
