BRONX, NY — A lucky lottery player from the Bronx has claimed a $1 million prize in the New York Lottery’s Magic 8 Ball scratch-off game.

Ivor Beazer purchased the winning ticket at Annerys Deli, located at 2178 Crotona Ave. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $422,446 after required withholdings, according to lottery officials.

The Magic 8 Ball scratch-off game, which cost $5 per ticket, offered players the chance to win the top prize of $1 million by matching their numbers to the winning numbers. The odds of winning the top prize were 1 in 3.4 million.

According to the New York Lottery, all top prizes for the Magic 8 Ball game have now been claimed. However, players can still cash valid lower-tier prizes through June 17, 2025. Game details and prize information can be found at nylottery.ny.gov.

Beazer’s win highlights the continued popularity of New York Lottery scratch-off games, which provide opportunities for significant payouts across the state.
