Anne Arundel County police seek information in juvenile assault investigation

EDGEWATER, Md. — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in a serious assault on a juvenile that occurred on January 6, 2025, in the area of Sweet Leaf Lane and Triton Court in Edgewater.

The assault took place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., police said. The suspect is described as a male between the ages of 14 and 17, wearing a black hooded jacket. He was reportedly accompanied by an unknown white female, also believed to be 14 to 17 years old, with a blonde ponytail. Both suspects were last seen fleeing toward a wooded area behind Sweet Leaf Lane.

Detectives believe other juveniles may have been in the area during the assault and are encouraging families to speak with their school-aged children about the incident. They are also asking residents to review any surveillance footage from January 6 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for individuals matching the descriptions.
