Off-duty NYCHA employee arrested for attempted grand larceny in Manhattan

NEW YORK, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) employee was arrested Monday afternoon in Manhattan’s 5th Precinct, police said.

Elijah Jones, 20, was taken into custody at approximately 1:05 p.m. and charged with attempted grand larceny in the fourth degree.

Authorities have not disclosed specific details regarding the alleged incident leading to the arrest, which remains under investigation.

Jones is employed by NYCHA, though the agency has not yet commented on the matter or indicated whether disciplinary action will follow.
