Philadelphia cop hospitalized after being struck by vehicle at traffic post

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia police officer assigned to the Traffic Division was struck by a civilian vehicle while on duty at a traffic post near 1000 Pattison Avenue in the 3rd District on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:57 p.m. The officer was assisting with traffic control in the area when they were hit by a vehicle. Emergency medical personnel from Medic 37 responded to the scene and transported the injured officer to Jefferson Hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed that one arrest has been made in connection with the incident. Details regarding the circumstances of the collision or the identity of the driver have not yet been released.
