Columbus player wins $50K on scratch-off

COLUMBUS, OH — A lucky lottery player has claimed a $50,000 prize after purchasing a winning Billion scratch-off ticket in Columbus.

The ticket was bought at Chaudhary Mart, located at 4251 N Kimberly Parkway. After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 28 percent, the winner will take home approximately $36,000.

Billion is a $50 scratch-off game with a top prize of $1 million a year for 20 years. As of January 21, three top prizes remain in the game.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to support education across the state.
