Man found dead inside vehicle after reported robbery in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 53-year-old man was found dead in the rear of a vehicle Tuesday evening following a reported robbery near the intersection of West 5th Street and Neptune Avenue, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:17 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Michael Shelonchik unconscious and unresponsive in the vehicle.

Emergency Medical Services transported Shelonchik to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities have not made any arrests in connection with the incident.

The NYPD confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
