Shy kitten Iris seeks loving home to discover her true potential

FORKED RIVER, N.J. — A 7-month-old kitten named Iris, described as shy but affectionate, is searching for her forever home through the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter.

Staff at the shelter say Iris is still learning to trust humans but becomes a warm and cuddly companion once she bonds with someone. Her personality shines through with affectionate headbutts, snuggles, and gentle purring when she feels safe.

“Iris is truly a hidden gem,” the shelter noted in a recent announcement. “With time and patience, she will shower her future adopter with love and companionship.”

Iris also gets along well with other cats, making her a great addition to households with feline companions. Shelter staff are working with Iris daily to help her build confidence and feel more comfortable around people.

Those interested in providing Iris with a loving home can visit the shelter to meet her and learn more about the adoption process.
