Fatal New Year’s Day crash that killed teen on Route 130 under investigation

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred on Route 130 South in South Brunswick Township on January 1, 2025, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka.

Police responded to the crash at approximately 7:24 a.m. and found a 1998 Buick that had struck a utility pole. The vehicle was occupied by one adult driver and three juveniles.

A 15-year-old male from West Windsor, who was seated in the front passenger seat, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The other occupants, including the driver, sustained minor injuries and were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for evaluation.

Details about the circumstances of the crash have not been disclosed, and authorities have not released the names of those involved. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
