Bronx man arrested in fatal stabbing of 45-year-old woman

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 29-year-old Bronx man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 45-year-old woman in Brooklyn, police said Saturday.

Weverton Lino was taken into custody on January 25, 2025, and charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The arrest follows an incident that occurred late Friday night.

On January 24, at approximately 11:40 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at 333 East 92nd Street, within the confines of the 67th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers found the female victim with multiple stab wounds to her body.

The victim was transported by EMS to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. Police are withholding her identity pending notification of her family.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
