Manhunt for Queens Rape Suspect Ongoing in New York City

QUEENS, N.Y. – The NYPD is investigating an attempted sexual assault that occurred early Friday morning in East Elmhurst, where a 32-year-old woman was attacked by an unidentified man.

At approximately 5:45 a.m. on January 24, 2025, the victim was walking near 31-31 94th Street when a man approached her from behind, placed a handkerchief over her mouth, and threatened to kill her if she did not comply. According to police, the suspect pushed the woman to the ground and attempted to remove her pants and undergarments before fleeing the scene on foot.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

The NYPD’s Queens Special Victims Squad has taken over the investigation and is working to identify and locate the suspect.
