Morning Traffic Disruptions Reported Across New Jersey

NEW JERSEY – Commuters faced multiple traffic disruptions on Monday morning, with several incidents reported across major highways and roads in the state.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Hudson County Extension near Interchange 14A (NJ 440/Bayonne Bridge) in Jersey City blocked one center toll lane, causing delays in the area. Additionally, a disabled vehicle on the Garden State Parkway northbound near Exit 127 (US 9/I-287/NJ 440) in Woodbridge Township resulted in one right lane being blocked.

A disabled tractor-trailer also disrupted traffic on US 1 northbound at Sandhill Rd/Major Rd in South Brunswick Township, with the right shoulder closed to traffic. Earlier, a crash involving a utility pole down on US 46 westbound near NJ 93 in Palisades Park led to the closure of one right lane.

Delays were also reported on several key routes:

  • NJ 208 southbound from Grandview Ave in Wyckoff to Maple Ave in Fair Lawn, with travel times of 10-15 minutes.
  • NJ 24 westbound near Exit 7 (NJ 124/JFK Parkway) in Millburn Township, and eastbound from I-287 to Exit 2 (CR 510/Columbia Turnpike) in Hanover Township, causing delays of 5-10 minutes.
  • Garden State Parkway northbound from Exit 136 (Stiles St) in Clark Township to Exit 140 (US 22/NJ 82) in Union Township experienced a four-mile delay.

Other minor delays included NJ 4 eastbound in Teaneck Township, NJ 17 in both directions between Paramus and Rochelle Park, and I-280 westbound in Newark. Commuters also faced disruptions on NJ 139 Lower eastbound in Jersey City and US 1&9 southbound near Tonnelle Avenue, with travel times of 5-10 minutes.

Authorities continue to monitor the affected areas, and drivers are advised to plan for delays. Travelers are urged to remain cautious and allow extra time for their morning commutes.
