Shooting erupts in Southwest D.C. leaving victim injured and police hunting for suspect

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Gunfire broke out Friday afternoon in Southwest, leaving an adult male injured and prompting a search for a suspect caught on surveillance footage.

Around 2:37 p.m., the victim fled from the 1100 block of 4th Street, Southwest, where the shooting occurred, to the intersection of 3rd Street and K Street seeking assistance. Officers arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Images of the suspect were captured on nearby surveillance cameras, showing the individual linked to the incident.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and indictment.
