Masked gunmen strike D.C. home and vanish in getaway SUV

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are searching for two suspects involved in an armed robbery that occurred early Monday morning in the 800 block of 49th Street, Northeast.

The incident took place shortly before 5 a.m., when two men wearing all black clothing and ski masks, both armed with handguns, carried out the robbery. According to authorities, the suspects, described by police as Black males with thin builds, fled the scene in a dark grey SUV heading northbound toward I Street, Northeast.

The Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate and is urging anyone with information to contact them at (202) 727-9099 or send anonymous tips via text to 50411.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crime.
