Armed carjackers attack driver and steal vehicle in Northwest D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A late-night armed carjacking in Northwest D.C. left a man injured after two suspects attacked him and stole his vehicle, prompting an urgent search for those responsible.

The incident occurred around 12:14 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, in the 5300 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. While sitting in his vehicle, the victim was approached by two suspects who brandished a firearm, assaulted him, and then fled in his car.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital by DC Fire and EMS. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects, and officials have released both photos and a video in hopes of identifying them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R34Xm9VbsnE
