Police identify man shot and killed in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A deadly shooting inside a Northeast D.C. residential building left 24-year-old Thomas Drew Jr. of Bowie fatally wounded, prompting an ongoing homicide investigation.

Officers responded to the 1500 block of Benning Road shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, where they found Drew suffering from gunshot wounds in a hallway. Medics transported him to a nearby hospital, but he did not survive.

Authorities have not released information about a suspect or motive as the investigation continues.
