Suspect shot by officer during warrant service in Bethel Park

BETHEL PARK, Pa. — County police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Tuesday night at an apartment complex on Dorchester Drive.

Bethel Park police were attempting to serve an arrest warrant for a 45-year-old man at approximately 10 p.m. when the incident took place.

According to preliminary information, the man exited his apartment with a firearm, prompting an officer to fire.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Authorities have not released the man’s identity or details on the charges related to the warrant.

Investigators are reviewing the circumstances of the shooting as part of the ongoing inquiry.
