Mom, 12-Year-Old Boy Attacked, Threatened to Be Set on Fire Aboard NYC Bus

BRONX, N.Y. — A woman and her 12-year-old son were attacked Monday morning on a Bronx bus by a man who threatened to set them on fire before slashing the woman’s hands, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:55 a.m. on a Bx15 bus near East 180th Street and 3rd Avenue. Authorities said an unidentified man approached the 31-year-old woman and her son, made threats, then threw an unknown liquid on the woman before slashing her hands with a sharp object.

The suspect fled the bus in an unknown direction. Emergency Medical Services responded and treated the woman for minor lacerations at the scene. Her son was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 6 feet tall and 300 pounds, last seen wearing a gray hooded jacket, blue denim shirt, gray sweatpants, and brown boots.
