Bee-Line bus driver attacked with unknown chemical liquid in the Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. — A 44-year-old Bee-Line bus operator was assaulted Saturday evening when an unidentified individual pushed her and splashed an unknown liquid on her face, authorities said.

The attack occurred around 6 p.m. near West Gun Hill Road and Jerome Avenue. After the assault, the suspect fled the bus on foot in an unknown direction.

Emergency responders transported the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/North Central Bronx, where she was listed in stable condition. Officials have not disclosed the nature of the liquid substance.

Police have not identified a suspect and are continuing to investigate the incident.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward as they search for the individual responsible for the attack.
