Illegal alien fugitive deported from US over human trafficking charges

DALLAS — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) removed Ionel Cirpaci, a 61-year-old Romanian national wanted in his home country for human trafficking, on Jan. 30 via a commercial flight.

Cirpaci was handed over to Romanian authorities upon arrival without incident, according to ICE officials.

An immigration judge in Sterling, Va., ordered Cirpaci’s final removal from the U.S. on June 7, 2024, following legal proceedings.

ICE did not provide details on Cirpaci’s activities in the U.S. or the specifics of the charges he faces in Romania.

Cirpaci’s deportation follows ICE’s ongoing efforts to remove foreign nationals with outstanding criminal warrants in their home countries.
