PHILADELPHIA, PA – Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner and members of the District Attorney’s Office announced the conviction of Rasheed Robinson on Monday. Robinson was found guilty of First-Degree Murder, Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act (VUFA) 6106 and 6108, and Possession of an Instrument of Crime.

The victim, 25-year-old Deja Lewis, was found dead in her apartment on October 8, 2022. Investigators determined Robinson killed her following a disagreement. Robinson had been living with Lewis following his involvement in the murder of her stepfather in August 2021, for which he had an active arrest warrant at the time of Lewis’s murder.

Robinson was apprehended in Upper Darby three days after Lewis’s death. Law enforcement recovered two cell phones and a firearm from Robinson during the arrest. Ballistic evidence connected the firearm to the scene of Lewis’s murder. Additional evidence from phone data verified Robinson’s presence at the crime scene and showed his attempts to coerce Lewis into retracting a statement implicating him in her stepfather’s death.

Robinson received a life sentence.
