Armed suspect sought in Family Dollar robbery in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated robbery at a Family Dollar store on Monday morning, police said.

The incident occurred on February 3 at approximately 9:36 a.m. at the Family Dollar in the 1900 block of E. Livingston Avenue. The suspect entered the store, approached an employee behind the register, and pulled out a gun, demanding money. When the employee stated they could not open the register and fell to the ground behind the counter, the suspect fled northbound on foot toward S. Nelson Road.

The suspect is described as a Black male between the ages of 30 and 45, weighing approximately 140 to 160 pounds.

Police continue to investigate as they work to identify and locate the armed suspect.
