Brick Township schools announce delayed opening due to icy conditions

BRICK TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Brick Township Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delayed opening schedule Thursday due to forecasted inclement weather and potentially hazardous icy road conditions, officials announced.

The Brick Township Police Department shared the update Wednesday, citing safety concerns as the reason for the delay.

The National Weather Service has warned of freezing temperatures overnight, increasing the risk of ice on roadways and sidewalks.

District officials urged parents and students to check for further updates as weather conditions evolve.

Authorities are advising residents to use caution when traveling Thursday morning.
