Two 13-year-olds shot during botched attempted car theft in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Two 13-year-old boys were shot during an attempted vehicle robbery in the city’s 12th District on Tuesday evening, police said. The shooting occurred at approximately 6:13 p.m. near 5900 Windsor Street.

A 911 call reported multiple gunshots in the area, and responding officers found the two teenagers wounded. One victim suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks, while the other was shot in the upper thigh. Both were transported by police to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in stable condition.

A man at the scene told authorities that the gunfire erupted during an alleged attempt to steal a vehicle. Police have not confirmed details of the alleged robbery but are holding both victims for further investigation.

The area remains secured as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the sooting.
