Two Teens Shot, One Dead in D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A shooting in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Southeast D.C. left a 17-year-old dead and a 16-year-old hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries on Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. in the 3500 block of 6th Street, in a parking lot outside the Meadowbrook Run Apartments.

According to investigators, the shooting followed a fight between individuals who were known to each other. The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 16-year-old was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
