Elderly Bronx man assaulted, tied up in home invasion robbery

BRONX, NY — An 88-year-old man was assaulted and tied up in his Bronx apartment Sunday evening after two men posing as delivery workers forced their way inside and robbed him, police said.

The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. at 225 Willis Avenue. According to authorities, two unidentified male suspects knocked on the victim’s door under the pretense of delivering an envelope. When he opened the door, they pushed their way inside and struck him in the head with a firearm.

The suspects then threw the victim onto his bed and tied him up before stealing a cellphone, cash, and a wallet. They fled the scene in a black 2018 Honda HR-V SUV, heading in an unknown direction.

The victim suffered a large head laceration and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition, where he received stitches.
