Snow and Snow-Rain Mix Heading Toward New Jersey Tuesday Night

TRENTON, N.J. — A winter storm watch has been issued for New Jersey and Delaware, with snow expected to begin Tuesday afternoon and continue through Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will drop to around 22 degrees overnight before clouds increase toward daybreak. Snow is expected to start Tuesday after 4 p.m., with a 30% chance of precipitation and minimal accumulation.

Snowfall will intensify Tuesday night, with a 90% chance of precipitation and accumulations between 2 to 4 inches. Winds will shift to the northeast at around 5 mph.

On Wednesday, snow is likely in the morning before transitioning to a mix of rain, snow, and sleet in the afternoon. High temperatures will reach 37 degrees, with an additional inch of snow and sleet possible.

By Wednesday night, the storm will bring a mix of snow, sleet, and rain before turning to all rain. With a 100% chance of precipitation and temperatures hovering near freezing, an additional 1 to 2 inches of snow and sleet accumulation is possible.

Officials are urging residents to prepare for hazardous road conditions as the storm moves through the region.
