Two arrested after teen’s body found on New Rochelle sidewalk

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Two people have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a deceased juvenile at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Charles Street, the New Rochelle Police Department announced.

Hugo Perez-Gabriel, 32, of New Rochelle, was charged with concealment of a human corpse and endangering the welfare of a child. A 16-year-old juvenile, also from New Rochelle, was charged with concealment of a human corpse and possession of a forged instrument.

Police said the two removed the deceased from a nearby residence and left him on the sidewalk. The body was identified as 15-year-old Jonson Temaj. The cause of death remains undetermined, pending toxicology reports.

Temaj was found unresponsive early Thursday morning and later pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information to contact the New Rochelle Police Department.
