PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — A high school student was taken into custody after allegedly attempting to bring two loaded firearms onto school grounds, officials said.

The incident occurred Monday morning at Potomac High School when a routine security screening detected a prohibited item on a 19-year-old 11th-grade student around 10:45 a.m.

Security personnel intervened and discovered two loaded handguns concealed in the student’s clothing.

Authorities said the student will face multiple charges, including possession of a handgun on person and carrying a dangerous weapon on school property.
