JACKSON, NJ — Dexter, a 5-year-old Labrador/Pit Bull mix, is looking for his perfect match after returning to the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility through no fault of his own.

Described as a friendly and well-mannered companion, Dexter has passed all assessments and tested well with both dogs and cats. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Shelter staff recommend a home with children 12 and older.

Although adjusting to shelter life has been difficult for Dexter, volunteers say he quickly wins hearts with his affectionate nature.

Potential adopters can meet Dexter at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility, located at 615 Freemont Ave. in Jackson. The shelter is open daily from 1 to 4 p.m.
