Maryland State Police investigating fatal shooting in Somerset County

CRISFIELD, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in Somerset County.

Officers from the Crisfield Police Department responded to a reported shooting at Third Street and Cove Street at approximately 1:15 a.m. Upon arrival, police found Keyon Demetrius Honesty, 43, of Princess Anne, Maryland, with an apparent gunshot wound.

Honesty was transported to TidalHealth McCready Pavilion Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office and the Princess Anne Police Department. Crime scene technicians processed the scene.

Authorities are seeking home-security footage from the Somers Cove area between 1:10 a.m. and 1:35 a.m. Anyone with information is urged to contact Corporal Kyle Braightmeyer at 443-480-6818.
