ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane emphasized the agency’s commitment to public safety.

“Our officers work tirelessly to protect our communities by removing individuals who pose a threat to our nation’s security,” McShane said.

A federal arrest warrant for Chinchilla-Avilez was issued on Feb. 10 by the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania for failure to depart.

Chinchilla-Avilez was transported to the U.S. District Courthouse in Harrisburg and remains in federal custody pending criminal proceedings.
