Snow emergency plan in effect for Worcester County

OCEAN CITY, MD — The Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack, in coordination with local agencies and the Maryland State Highway Administration, has enacted a Snow Emergency Plan for Worcester County as of February 19, 2025, at 4:45 p.m.

Under the emergency plan, all vehicles on roadways must be equipped with snow chains or snow tires. Additionally, a parking ban is now in place on all designated snow emergency routes throughout the county. Any vehicles left on the shoulders of these roads will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Authorities say the plan is intended to assist state highway crews in clearing snow from major roadways efficiently and ensuring public safety.

Motorists with questions can contact the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack at 410-641-3101.

Drivers in Worcester County are urged to follow emergency regulations as authorities work to clear roadways and ensure safe travel conditions.
