New Jersey man held without bail on child endangerment, sex assault charges in Toms River

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A New Jersey man is being held without bail in Ocean County on multiple child endangerment and sex-related charges, according to jail records.

Michael Angelo Marto, 34, was booked into the Ocean County jail on Thursday and is facing charges including second-degree sexual assault, lewdness observed by children under 13, and multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child, records show.

Marto was also charged with attempting to lure or entice a minor into a motor vehicle, a second-degree offense.

His commitment date is recorded as Thursday, and no projected release date has been provided. Jail records do not indicate any aliases or detainer holds.

Authorities have not released additional details about the alleged incidents.

Marto remains in custody as the case proceeds through the judicial system.
