New Jesey cop fighting for life after unprovoked stabbing outside local grocery store

CAMDEN, N.J. — A Camden County police officer is in critical condition after being stabbed in what officials are calling an unprovoked attack Sunday night.

The incident occurred outside Duran Grocery on the 1100 block of Broadway. Authorities said the officer was rushed to Cooper University Hospital, where he is undergoing emergency surgery.

Investigators have not released details on the suspect or a possible motive but confirmed that an arrest has been made.

The attack remains under investigation as law enforcement officials continue gathering evidence.
