Baltimore man buys lottery ticket while waiting for takeout order, wins $50,000

Lottery scratch off tickets for sale

BALTIMORE — A Baltimore man’s routine breakfast order came with an unexpected jackpot after he won $50,000 on a MONOPOLY X50 scratch-off ticket while waiting for his meal.

The government employee purchased four of the $10 instant tickets at Golden Star Carryout on North Gay Street. It was the fourth and final ticket that revealed the second-tier prize.

His reaction was immediate and loud. “It was loud,” he said, recalling the moment with a smile.

Employees at the carryout verified his win and joined in the celebration before he left.

A simple morning routine turned into a life-changing moment with one lucky ticket.
