Off-duty FDNY firefighter charged with vehicular manslaughter in Queens

QUEENS, N.Y. — An off-duty FDNY firefighter was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged in connection with a fatal crash, police said.

Michael Pena, 28, was taken into custody at 6:13 a.m. within the confines of the 115th Precinct. He is facing charges of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, and refusing to take a breath test.

Details surrounding the incident leading to his arrest have not been released.
