Newark, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. is appealing to the public for assistance in finding Shanah Reddick, 35, who is wanted for questioning in an aggravated assault shooting that occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

At approximately 2:35 a.m. on that day, the police were dispatched to the 100 block of West End Avenue following a gunfire alert from the shot spotter detection system. Residents reported hearing a loud bang, but officers did not find a crime scene upon arrival.

The situation took a turn at 6:10 a.m. when a resident identified a bullet hole in a window and ceiling of a home on the same block. Reddick is suspected to be a witness to this event, now under the investigation of the Major Crimes Division Shooting Response Team.

Director Miranda encourages anyone with information about Reddick’s location to contact the Police Division’s Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips remain anonymous and could result in a reward; submissions can also be made through the Police Division’s website.
