Delaware State Police Investigate Road Rage Shooting Incident

NEW CASTLE, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident related to road rage that occurred Sunday morning in New Castle. On March 2, around 9:41 a.m., troopers responded to reports of shots fired on North Dupont Highway near Fairview Avenue.

Preliminary investigations revealed the incident involved a BMW SUV and an unidentified sedan. During the altercation, a suspect in the front passenger seat of the sedan discharged a firearm at the BMW driver, a 35-year-old Delaware man. The gunfire did not hit the BMW or its driver. After the shots, the suspect’s vehicle fled south on North Dupont Highway.

Authorities describe the suspect as a masked black male wearing dark-colored clothing. There is no further information regarding the suspect or the vehicle.
