SEVERN, MD – On Tuesday, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a shooting was reported in the 8100 block of Meade Village Road, resulting in the deaths of two men.

Police officers arriving on the scene found two adult males with apparent gunshot wounds and administered medical aid until the Fire Department arrived. Derrick Purcell Ahmad McDonald, 23, of Severn, Maryland, was declared deceased at the scene, while Mack Samuel Galloway III, 28, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, later died at the hospital. Another 26-year-old male was injured by a metal fragment and transported to a trauma center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers identified a vehicle near Pioneer Drive and Jacobs Road with two males believed to be involved in the shooting. The passenger had a gunshot wound and was taken to Bay View Hospital for treatment, while the driver was not injured.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation, and collected numerous items of evidentiary value from both the crime scene and the vehicle.

Several witnesses were interviewed to gather information, with preliminary findings suggesting that the incident was targeted and not random.
