Newark police search for missing 35-year-old woman with schizophrenia

NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating Ebony N. Gay, a 35-year-old Newark woman who was reported missing on March 3.

Gay, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, may not be taking her medication. She was last seen in the 50 block of Clifton Avenue and may be staying at a shelter in Newark.

She is described as a Black woman weighing 260 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. Her clothing at the time of her disappearance is unknown.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. is urging anyone with information to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips remain confidential and may be eligible for a reward.
