Fire damages Wargo’s Restaurant in Forest Hill, cause deemed accidental

FOREST HILL, Md. — A fire broke out at Wargo’s Restaurant on Saturday morning, causing an estimated $150,000 in damage, officials said.

Firefighters responded at 8:12 a.m. to the single-story restaurant at 308 East Jarrettsville Road after a passerby spotted the fire. Crews from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company arrived and brought the blaze under control within 10 minutes.

Investigators determined the fire originated in the kitchen hood system and was accidental. No injuries were reported.

The building had no smoke alarms, fire alarms, or sprinklers, according to officials.
