Armed attackers on the run after violent D.C. assault and robbery

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A late-night assault in Southeast D.C. has prompted a police search for two suspects who attacked and robbed a victim on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

Just before midnight on February 28, a victim was approached from behind in the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Southeast. One of the suspects struck the victim in the head with a handgun, causing them to fall to the ground. The suspects then stole items from the victim’s pockets before fleeing the scene.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
