4-year-old boy mauled by dog at Harford County playground

BEL AIR, MD – A 4-year-old boy is recovering after being seriously injured in a dog attack at a local playground, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities are actively searching for the dog and its owner.

The incident occurred on March 11 at approximately 5:30 p.m. near Mayfield Drive and Marcie Court. The boy was with his father when a leashed dog attacked him during what officials described as a “consensual encounter.” Emergency responders transported the child to the hospital for treatment, and he has since been released.

Animal Control investigators believe the dog is a German Shepherd mix and that its owner is a man who resides in a nearby neighborhood. Officials have urged the public to provide any information or video evidence that could help locate the dog and its owner.

“Time is of the essence,” the sheriff’s office stated, asking anyone with relevant details to contact Harford County Animal Control at 410-638-3505.

Authorities are working urgently to identify the dog and prevent any further incidents.
