Animal cruelty investigation launched in Rockville after malnourished animals found

ROCKVILLE, MD – Authorities in Rockville are investigating a case of animal cruelty after multiple malnourished animals were discovered at a residence on Scott Avenue, police said.

On March 14, Rockville City Police, along with Neighborhood Services Officers and Montgomery County Animal Control, responded to citizen complaints about neglected animals. Officers obtained a search and seizure warrant, removed the animals from the property, and transported them to veterinarians for evaluation and care.

Officials have not disclosed the number or types of animals recovered but confirmed that an investigation is ongoing. Charges against the owner are currently under review.

“We thank the community for speaking up and reporting concerns,” Rockville City Police said in a statement, urging residents to report any suspected animal cruelty to local authorities.

The case remains under investigation, and authorities expect to release additional details as they become available.
