Woman arrested for DUI twice in two days, held without bond

STAFFORD, VA — A 32-year-old Stafford woman was arrested for her third DUI in the past year, just one day after being charged with her second.

On March 19 at approximately 1:49 p.m., Deputy A.E. Epps responded to reports of a reckless driver on White Oak Road. A caller reported a Ford struggling to stay in its lane before pulling into a Walgreens parking lot.

Deputy Epps located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Leah Hicks, who appeared highly disoriented and smelled strongly of alcohol. When asked to complete field sobriety tests, Hicks immediately placed her hands behind her back as if being arrested.

Further investigation revealed Hicks had a prior DUI conviction in February, which required her to have an interlock device installed—none was found in her vehicle. Authorities also learned she had been arrested for DUI just a day earlier in Prince William County.

Hicks was charged with driving under the influence third offense within five years, driving without an interlock system, and driving without a license. She was taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail and held without bond.
