Teaneck, NJ – On Thursday, staff at Teaneck High School reported a suspected burglary and theft, with discoveries indicating that someone had entered classrooms earlier in the day. A missing reusable shopping bag led to the review of surveillance footage, revealing a man present during the night and early morning.

The video showed an adult male entering the building through an unlocked door at 8:49 p.m. on Wednesday, while a Board of Education meeting was underway. The footage displayed the man navigating various school locations until he exited at 5:42 a.m. on Thursday.

During this period, Teaneck Police responded to two burglary alarms, at 12:42 a.m. and 1:36 a.m, which reported perimeter breaches. Officers checked the building’s exterior, finding it secure with no signs of entry or presence inside.

Following a police investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Ryon Reid, who allegedly took the missing bag. Reid was charged with burglary, third-degree theft, and a disorderly persons offense.
