Columbus police seek suspect in brutal bar assault that left victim with broken jaw

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a violent assault inside a bar on North High Street that left a victim hospitalized with serious injuries.

The incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 23, when a victim was punched in the mouth after asking the suspect not to smoke indoors, according to the Columbus Division of Police. The force of the blow caused the victim to suffer a broken jaw and seizures, requiring surgical treatment at a local hospital.

Police released a photo of the suspect and are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Davis at 614-645-2487 or SRDavis@columbuspolice.org. Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).

The suspect is being sought on a charge of felonious assault.
