Powerball pays out twice in NY with $50K winning tickets

NEW YORK Two New York Lottery players each won $50,000 in the March 29 Powerball drawing after purchasing third-prize-winning tickets in Manhattan and Norwich.

One ticket was sold at Players Cafe, located at 241 Bleecker Street in Manhattan. The other winning ticket was purchased at Mirabito, located at 4839 State Route 23 in Norwich. Each matched four white balls and the red Power Ball, securing the $50,000 prize.

The Powerball game draws five numbers from a pool of 1 through 69 and one Power Ball number from a separate pool of 1 through 26. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

Winners have up to one year from the draw date to claim their prizes. The New York Lottery contributed $3.8 billion to public education statewide in fiscal year 2023-2024.
